Man who kicked woman at pedestrian bridge held

Police say man, who has a bad temper, was arrested last year for committing a similar offence.

KUALA LUMPUR:
A man who allegedly kicked a woman on the pedestrian bridge, linking Bank Negara Malaysia to Jalan Raja Laut, was arrested last night after the video went viral.

The 34-year-old suspect was arrested in front of Masjid Saidina Hamzah in Kampung Batu Muda, Jalan Ipoh here, at 11.05pm.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mazlan Lazim said investigations found that the suspect was arrested last year for committing a similar offence.

“The suspect does not have any mental problems but has a bad temper.

“He has criminal records such as making threats, arson and causing hurt,” he told reporters at a press conference in Cheras here today.

The case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing hurt.
