KUALA LUMPUR: The “Datuk Seri” businessman, who allegedly assaulted three Rela personnel last month, today faced two new charges related to drugs at two separate courts.

Liow Soon Hee, 29, was accused of consuming two types of drugs, namely amphetamine and methamphetamine, on Oct 30 at Ampang police district headquarters.

He claimed trial to the charge under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act at the Ampang Magistrate’s Court.

If convicted, he will face a maximum two years’ jail sentence or RM5,000 fine and two years’ supervision.

The court allowed Liow bail of RM3,000 in one surety and fixed the next mention on Dec 14.

Earlier, at the Kuala Lumpur Magistrate’s Court, Liow also claimed trial to another charge under Section 15(1)(a).

He was accused of testing positive for methamphetamine at the Dang Wangi police district headquarters on Feb 11, 2014.

The court granted Liow RM2,000 bail in one surety and set Dec 4 for mention of the case.

Last Friday, Liow was charged at the Ampang Sessions Court over his alleged assault of three Rela personnel outside a Chinese temple on Oct 27.

After paying bail, he was rearrested outside the courthouse by police over a 2014 drug-related offence.

DAP assemblyman Lau Weng San lodged a police report last Saturday, urging police to investigate Liow’s five companies for claims of money laundering.
