According to a report by Channel NewsAsia (CNA), the singer known as Harris Baba vowed to sue Louis Vuitton (LV) boutique because the hot ceiling light cover which fell caused superficial second degree burns on his nine-month old daughter’s face and both her hands
The artiste took to social media on Monday, posting a photo on Instagram telling his followers how a “very hot light cover” from the boutique’s high ceiling came loose and fell directly on his daughter Aleena Ziya.
Harris, whose full name is Khawaja Mohammad Harris Baba, also posted a photo of the scar on his daughter’s face saying that the wounds would take “months to heal”.
“We take care of Aleena so well but due to other people’s negligence and mistakes, Aleena has to pay the price. Even a simple thing like fixing a light could not be done properly in such a big and well-known boutique,” he was quoted as saying by CNA.
A police report was filed on the incident while Harris is reported to have engaged a “really good lawyer” to pursue legal action against LV, which he said in a separate social media post yesterday was not for the money.
“I am doing this to ensure that the boutique will learn never to take such matters lightly ever again.
“As a father I can’t bear to see my baby girl in such a situation. How do you expect me to forgive and forget so easily?” he said on Instagram.
Harris,27, achieved fame across the causeway following his victory in a talent search reality show in Singapore, called The Final 1. However, he is now said to be based in Malaysia.
He has since starred in two local television dramas here, including Alien Planet Cinta and Cinta Viral.
