
The remand order was issued by magistrate Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali today after an application from the police.
The 29-year-old “Datuk Seri” is being remanded to assist in the investigation under Section 186 of the Penal Code for preventing public servants from carrying out their duties and under Section 353 for using criminal force to cause fear to the public servants and stop them from carrying out their duties.
The suspect, clad in a white shirt, had arrived at the Ampang Magistrate’s Court at 9.30am and at 10.50am, he was accompanied by police into the courtroom for the remand proceedings.
The “Datuk Seri” was arrested at 4pm yesterday after surrendering himself at the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters.
In the 6.30am incident last Friday, the three Rela members, aged 19, 21 and 27, suffered injuries to their head, eyes and abdomen after allegedly being beaten up and kicked by the man.
The victims claimed that they were assaulted because they had asked the “Datuk Seri” to move his Toyota Vellfire MPV parked on the side of the main road as it was causing traffic obstruction near a temple in Kampung Baru Ampang.
