PETALING JAYA: Toll collection at several toll stations in Selangor, Johor and Kedah will be abolished from Jan 1, 2018, Prime Minister Najib Razak announced in his Budget 2018 speech in the Dewan Rakyat today.

He said the toll stations affected were those at Batu Tiga, Shah Alam and Sungai Rasau in Selangor; Bukit Kayu Hitam in Kedah and the Eastern Dispersal Link in Johor.

Najib said Budget 2018 was designed to ensure the wealth of the country would be shared fairly and inclusively among the people.

Shah Alam Umno information chief Razalee Ahmad had called for an end to toll collection at the Batu Tiga and Sungai Rasau toll stations.

Razalee was convinced that Barisan Nasional (BN) could succeed in regaining Selangor from the opposition in the general election if the toll collection was abolished.
