
Zahid, who is also BN deputy chairman, said both he and Prime Minister Najib Razak would thoroughly study the candidates proposed by the component parties before Najib, who is BN chairman, makes the final decision.
“It is better for the seats allocated for a party not be disturbed by the other parties although their intentions are good.
“We know that each party is given opportunities based on criteria but we need to respect others so that no party feels hurt,” he said when asked to comment on the tussle for the Cameron Highlands parliamentary seat between MyPPP and MIC, after the Home Ministry’s monthly assembly, here, today.
MyPPP president, M Kayveas has expressed hope of contesting the Cameron Highlands seat, which is now held by MIC former president, G Palanivel.
Yesterday, it was reported that Kavyeas requested for a meeting with MIC president, Dr S Subramaniam to discuss the issue of the candidate for the seat.
