Amin Senin is new education director-general

He replaces Khair Mohamad Yusof and was selected based on his leadership, qualification, experience and competency.

Amin Senin has been appointed director-general of education, a post he will assume on Oct 19, the chief secretary to the government Ali Hamsa announced today.

The appointment of Amin, 57, who was education deputy director-general (Teaching Professionalism Development Sector) was to replace Khair Mohamad Yusof.

In a statement, Ali said the appointment of Amin was based on his leadership, qualification, experience and competency, particularly in teaching and education development.

He began his 33-year civil service career in education on October 1, 1984.

Amin has also held the posts of director of Aminuddin Baki Institute and deputy rector of the Institute of Teacher Education Malaysia.

Ali also expressed his appreciation for Khair’s contribution and service of over 35 years in the civil service.
