PETALING JAYA: Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim has been hospitalised at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

His daughter, Nurul Izzah, confirmed this today, saying her father’s blood pressure “was erratic”.

The PKR vice-president said this when asked to confirm reports that the Pakatan Harapan leader was rushed to hospital at 2pm.

“His blood pressure is erratic. He also needs to undergo intensive physiotherapy for an old shoulder injury,” she told FMT.

This is not the first time Anwar has been hospitalised due to his blood pressure.

The former deputy prime minister was hospitalised for the same reason in May last year.

In June 2016, he was also hospitalised for severe back pain.

Anwar is currently serving a five-year jail sentence for sodomising his former aide.

Nurul Izzah told FMT that even in poor health, Anwar is urging all Malaysians to continue the fight for change.

He also called for all Pakatan Harapan leaders to focus on people-centric issues such as alleged economic management taking place in the country.

“Change is imminent,” Anwar said, according to Nurul Izzah.
