PETALING JAYA:
An entertainment outlet in Kota Damansara was hit by Molotov cocktails at 4.15pm today, injuring a worker from Bangladesh on his head and hands.

Harian Metro reported that the victim, in his 30s, named Sujan, was near the front entrance. Seven other co-workers were not injured as they were inside.

A witness at the incident, Mohd Sharif Alsirip, 21, said Sujan and his colleagues had just entered the premises when he was hit by flames from the explosion.

“He managed to call for help and a colleague tried to chase two suspects in face masks but failed to catch them,” Sharif was quoted as saying.

He said the suspects escaped in a black Audi car.

The victim was sent to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for emergency treatment using another worker’s vehicle.

Sharif said he and Sujan had been working at the entertainment centre for the last nine months since it opened and this was the first time it had been attacked in this manner.

District police chief ACP Mohd Zani Che Din said police had ruled out terrorist elements and believed it was likely a case of business extortion as the owner had previously received threats.

Police will study closed-circuit television footage from the nearby premises to assist in investigations.

It is believed that two Molotov cocktails were hurled at the nightclub entrance, but only one exploded.
