PETALING JAYA:
Pakatan Harapan has given three different titles to three people to perform the same function, Umno minister Salleh Said Keruak said.

The communications and multimedia minister said there was now confusion as to who is really heading the opposition coalition.

He said PH’s press conference last week had created even more confusion than it has cleared up.

“The political reality, however, is that the party that holds the most number of seats in Parliament becomes the prime minister and deputy prime minister.

“In Barisan Nasional’s case, this would be Umno, mainly because Umno holds the most number of seats.

“In Pakatan Harapan’s case, DAP would be the one that holds the most number of seats. And this would mean DAP will get to decide who becomes PM and DPM and not Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad or Anwar Ibrahim, as they are trying to suggest.

“This is what Pakatan Harapan is trying to hide from Malaysians,” he said in his latest blog post.

“Pakatan Harapan is saying that Anwar will be the PM but in the meantime there will be a temporary PM until Anwar gets released from jail.

“Kit Siang wants the Malays to think that the PM and DPM will always be Malay.

“He knows that this is the only way the Malays will vote for Pakatan Harapan.

“But then, without PAS, Pakatan Harapan is not going to get Malay votes that easily.”

He said DAP will still decide who gets to become the PM and DPM.

“And Mahathir thinks he is the glue that holds Pakatan Harapan together in spite of their many differences. But then his party, PPBM, has only one seat and does not really have power to say much,” he added.

PH has appointed Anwar Ibrahim as its leader, while Mahathir is the chairman.

Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail is the president, assisted by three deputies, Muhyiddin Yassin (PPBM), Lim Guan Eng (DAP) and Mohamad Sabu (Amanah).

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali and his PPBM counterpart Mukhriz Mahathir were named as vice-presidents, along with DAP’s Chong Chieng Jen and Amanah’s Salahuddin Ayub.

Former deputy minister Saifuddin Abdullah is the chief secretary.
