
He said signing the pledge was important and that MACC was carrying out its responsibility to raise awareness on corruption.
“I am confident MACC is not politicking, but those who have not signed the pledge for reasons best known to them are the ones politicking,” he told reporters after a ceremony to fete Johor government haj pilgrims here today.
He was commenting on the statement by PKR secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution yesterday, who questioned whether MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad wanted to be a politician or celebrity, saying his approach was seen as a publicity stunt to gain media attention.
Saifuddin, who is also the Penang chief minister’s strategic adviser, said the people were not interested in the pledge as it was just a public relations exercise, while questioning why the Corporate Integrity Pledge was discontinued.
