Police: Investigation paper on alleged molest ‘almost ready’

Northeast District Police chief ACP Anuar Omar says the paper will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor’s office on Monday.

The investigation paper on a case involving a state assemblyman’s special aide who is alleged to have molested a woman at an entertainment centre here is almost ready.

Northeast District Police chief ACP Anuar Omar said the paper would be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor’s office on Monday.

“Police have also obtained several items in connection with the case, including the blouse and pants worn by the victim during the incident,” he told reporters here today

In the incident on July 6, the 21-year-old victim, who is a college student, claimed to have been molested by the man, who is also a former municipal councillor, at the parking area of the entertainment centre in Beach Street here.

The man, in his 40s, was arrested last Thursday.
