PUTRAJAYA:
Domestic Trade, Co-operatives and Consumerism Minister Hamzah Zainuddin has urged disgruntled members of fitness club, True Fitness Malaysia, to submit complaints and claims to the Consumer Claims Tribunal.

“The tribunal can handle claims up to RM25,000 for each person,” he said when asked if True Fitness members had complained to the ministry following the closure of the club.

Hamzah said this at a media conference in conjunction with the announcement of fixed maximum prices for controlled price goods for the Aidilfitri festive season today.

True Fitness, which is based in Singapore, announced the shutting down of all its gymnasium and spa facilities in Malaysia on its website on Saturday, after closing its operations in Thailand on Friday.

The company, which had been operating for 12 years in Malaysia, was reported to have closed down operations following unprofitable business.
