MACC chief commissioner Dzulkifli Ahmad when commenting on reports related to abuse of power in a cooperative said: “Wait for the MACC to take action shortly.”
Asked if the four men would be arrested or remanded in a few days, Dzulkifli simply answered: “Insya Allah”.
It was reported the men, most of them board members of a cooperative in a government-linked company (GLC), had allegedly abused their position to not only introduce their own multi-level marketing (MLM) system in the cooperative, but also technically force its members to sign up.
It was reported those who applied for loans would have their applications approved if they signed up for the MLM.
This would cost them RM6,700 and in return, they would get beauty products, supposedly worth that much.
He was speaking to reporters when met after distributing bubur lambuk (porridge) packets at a Ramadan bazaar here yesterday in conjunction with the Anti-Corruption Revolution Movement (Gerah) campaign.
MACC has also distributed the porridge to the public at four other locations in Putrajaya including the Putrajaya police headquarters, Putrajaya Fire and Rescue Department, Putrajaya Hospital and Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin Mosque.
In another development, Dzulkifli denied claims that the case of a police officer, who was found dead with a gunshot on his forehead at Pasir Puteh police headquarters, was linked to the MACC.
“There is no report connecting MACC to the case at all,” he said when asked to comment on the claims that the officer was being investigated by the MACC which led to his suicide.
