She was at home when she heard a loud commotion outside and later learnt that the London terror attacks had taken place directly outside her apartment.
“I could hear everything from my place,” she told The Star Online, explaining that her room was some 300 metres from where one of the attacks occurred.
She said there were many police cars outside her apartment and she could hear helicopters flying around.
Earlier, according to media reports, a white van had swerved and hit several pedestrians in the south side of London Bridge. Three men then exited from the vehicle and ran towards Borough Market, where they started stabbing people who were out enjoying the night.
Six people have been reported killed, including three attackers, and more than 30 others injured.
Siti Farhana, afraid to step out the front door, kept her eyes peeled to her window to keep track of events as it unfolded outside.
She said she had just finished breaking her fast when she saw through her window police circling the area. They later cordoned the area with tape.
“I think they arrested a man at the alley in front of my house,” she said.
Siti Farhana’s family and friends in Malaysia and the United Kingdom have been frantically messaging her to check on her safety since they know she lives very close to the location of the attacks.
She said there was hardly any noise outside now and the situation had improved somewhat mostly because there was police everywhere now.
