
Mohd Azwan Mohd Ali, 21, pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
On the first count, he is accused of causing serious injury to the legs of restaurant worker Mohd Salim Nur Ali, 20, by using hot oil.
On the second and third counts, he is accused of causing serious injury to Mohd Salim’s wife, Nornarissa Sofea Hazari, 20, and the couple’s 16-month-old daughter, Nor Alissha Jannah, on the legs, hands and body.
He allegedly committed the offences at Mohd Salim’s workplace in Bukit Ampang here at 11pm on Nov 14, 2016.
The charges come under Section 325 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum seven years’ jail and a fine upon conviction.
Magistrate Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali allowed the accused bail of RM2,000 in one surety on each count and an additional condition that he refrain from harassing the victims.
The court fixed July 12 for re-mention.
Deputy public prosecutor Norhashimah Hashim appeared for the prosecution while the accused was unrepresented.
