JOHOR BAHRU: The Sessions Court here today set July 5 for re-mention of a RM30.3 million corruption case involving a former Johor exco and property consultant.

Judge Mohd Fauzi Mohd Nasir fixed the date after deputy public prosecutor Khazrin Haffiz Khalil requested for more time to prepare the documents for the trial.

Former exco Abd Latif Bandi is accused of abetting Amir Shariffuddin Abd Raub, while the property consultant is accused of accepting bribes for himself and the former, as an inducement to approve the release of a number of Bumiputera-reserved housing lots for sale to the public.

The two are also accused of receiving bribes as an inducement to reduce contributions to the Johor State Housing Fund in relation to certain housing projects.

They allegedly committed the offences at a bank in Larkin Perdana here between Nov 13, 2013 and October, 2016.

Abd Latif was represented by counsel Salehuddin Saidin and four other lawyers while Amir was represented by counsel Asrul Z Stork and Hazza Khalid.
