NABAWAN:
State assemblymen and members of Parliament in Sabah have been reminded not to view their position as a privilege.

Sabah Chief Minister Musa Aman said as representatives of the people, they could not afford to be arrogant.

“You cannot be arrogant, because the people were the ones who chose you to be an assemblyman or a member of Parliament,” he said while launching Pesta Kaamatan for the district here today.

He also reminded the state’s honourable people’s representatives (YB) to regularly visit their constituents and perform the responsibilities entrusted to them.

He said the state government’s approach to fulfilling the needs of the people was through negotiating, including with the federal government.

“We are fortunate to have a prime minister such as Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who is concerned about the people and is always receptive to every request we made for the development of the people in Sabah,” he said.
