PAS ‘sesat’ in claiming BN better than PH, says Guan Eng

People are not gullible to fall for PAS’ claims, says DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, citing GST as an example where PAS contradicts BN's policy.

GEORGE TOWN: “Sesat” (Lost) politics is the order of the day for PAS, says DAP’s Lim Guan Eng as the Islamist party now seems to be lost by virtue of their allegiance becoming muddled.

Lim said PAS was “sesat” (lost) because it had said BN was better than the opposition Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition.

The Penang chief minister was responding to claims by PAS strategist Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki, who had said Pakatan Harapan was worse than BN.

“How can you say BN is better than Pakatan, when you are against GST? How are you going to abolish GST when you are supporting BN? It is contradictory.

“PAS is clearly ‘sesat’. It has to explain why it has lost its way. People are not gullible or stupid, they can see who is ‘sesat’,” Lim told reporters at the Penang Hospital here today.

Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, said the electorate was smart to discern between BN and Pakatan Harapan and would not be “stupid” to fall for PAS’ claims.

Accusing PAS of trying to cause discord between Muslims and non-Muslims by suggesting the next PM must be a Muslim and a Malay, Lim said such suggestions were unnecessary because no non-Muslim had ever asked to be prime minister in Malaysia.

This was after a PAS delegate had suggested that the Malay Muslim requirement for the post of prime minister be inscribed in the Federal Constitution, at the recently concluded PAS muktamar.
