
Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahman allowed the 43-year-old man, nicknamed ”Ah Chong”, to be released on MACC bail of RM50,000 in three sureties.
The man, who had played for the Negri Sembilan and Selangor football teams, was remanded since April 15 to facilitate investigations under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009 on suspicion of match-fixing involving the Malaysian Indian Sports Council-Malaysia Indian Football Association (MISC-MIFA).
He was represented by counsel Ridha Abdah Subri.
On April 6, MACC arrested three MISC-MIFA players, including an import player, for allegedly taking bribes between RM10,000 and RM30,000 from a bookie to fix matches.
