PETALING JAYA: The teenager who drove the wrong way on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) on Tuesday morning, causing an accident that killed one man, was a loner at school, Harian Metro reported.

A teacher who had taught the part-time model in secondary school told the daily that the girl did not seem interested in her studies.

“Instead of her books, she usually brought a mirror and comb to class. She also used to sit alone and would sometimes just comb her hair during class,” said the teacher who chose to remain anonymous.

The teenager was today identified as Ng Pei Ven, 19, when she was charged under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act for consuming drugs, at the Bukit Mertajam Magistrates Court.

She was also released on court bail of RM5,000 but she will be required to report to the Central Seberang Prai district police headquarters once a week.

The teacher said she had taught Ng while the girl was in Form Two at SMK St Mark in Butterworth.

“She didn’t have many friends but she was also quiet and did not cause any problems in school,” the teacher was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.

The teacher also said she was aware that Ng carried a Persons with Disability (OKU) card due to her learning disability.
