Perak CID chief Senior Asst Comm Gan Tian Kee told the media in a SMS message that the sex slave claim was made by a 23-year-old victim when police recorded her statement recently.
She was one of 18 people rescued during an operation in an estate in Kampung Tasek at Pengkalan Hulu on Feb 26.
Statements taken since then led the police to the 14-year-old girl who was sexually abused at a house in Pokok Sena, Kedah.
Gan said the girl was placed under treatment and evaluation at the Sungai Petani Hospital. She has since been discharged from the hospital after an examination and put under police protection.
The victims comprise five adult males, six adult females, two teenagers aged 13 and 17, and five children from ages two to 12. They are believed to have been trafficked and exploited by a 43-year old male suspect and his 24-year-old wife, the report said.
The couple managed the estate in Pengkalan Hulu, a Perak district that borders Kedah and Thailand. The man has been remanded until March 16 while the female suspect has been released on police bail, the report quoted Gan as saying.
The 14-year-old, who is from Negri Sembilan, was found at a house belonging to the family of the female suspect, on March 5, according to police.
The daily also quoted sources as saying the girl claimed to have been sexually abused at the house and that her family members were among the 18 victims rescued.
They added that the girl claimed that she was initially brought in by the female suspect three months ago as a foster child.
“We managed to rescue the girl after getting information from her mother,” The Star quoted the sources as saying.
Pengkalan Hulu OCPD Deputy Supt Raduan Mohamad was quoted as saying the case was being investigated under Sections 13 and 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants (Atipsom) Act.
