IPOH:
Cosmetics millionaire Dr Hasmiza Othman was fined RM500 in default two days’ jail after she pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court here today to failing to submit her income tax return form (Form B) to the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM).

The IRBM in a statement here said the founder and owner of Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd, better known as Datuk Seri Vida, 46, was ordered to pay the fine after she pleaded guilty before magistrate Siti Hanum Mohamed Sah.

Vida paid the fine and promised to file the income tax return for Year 2011 within one month from the date of sentencing.

The Vida Beauty Sdn Bhd company director was charged with failing to submit Form B for 2011 although the final notice under Section 78(a) of the Income Tax Act 1967 had been given to her.

IRBM counsel Norhidayah Mohamad Anas appeared for the prosecution.

Last December, Vida pleaded guilty in the Ipoh Sessions Court to 16 counts of failing to submit her goods and services tax (GST) returns.

Meanwhile, the court fixed March 9 and 10 for hearing 16 counts of failing to pay GST after Vida maintained her not guilty plea last October.
