Motorcyclist who kicked car after crash fined RM1,000

He became aggressive with woman motorist after fender-bender in Bangsar.

KUALA LUMPUR:
A motorcyclist who damaged a car by kicking it after a minor accident was today fined RM1,000 in default two months jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today for committing mischief and causing damage to a woman’s car, two months ago.

Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som meted out the punishment to Alyff Zul Azman, 27, after he pleaded guilty to committing mischief against Amnah Azahar, 31, and causing damage to her car by kicking and hitting the car’s side mirror and front bumper at the intersection of Jalan Rumah Sakit Bangsar here at 10.10am on Jan 13.

According to the facts of the case, the victim was driving to work and got into a fender bender with Alyff, who was riding a motorcycle, upon reaching the intersection.

The man became aggressive and continued causing damage to her car.

The woman then lodged a police report and the accused was arrested on the same day.

Alyff was charged under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which carries the maximum five years’ imprisonment or a fine or both, upon conviction.

Earlier, the accused who was unrepresented, pleaded for leniency on the grounds that he had repented.

Deputy public prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin asked the court for appropriate punishment to serve as a lesson to him and others.
