PETALING JAYA:
Inspector-General of Police Khalid Abu Bakar says police will only consider DNA tests, and not photos or tattoos to positively identify that the North Korean murdered on Feb 13 is Kim Jong Nam.

The North Korean’s body is currently held at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur morgue.

Local and foreign media have reported that photos of the North Korean as well as tattoos on his body could be used to positively identify the murder victim.

“We will not be using photos to identify the body,” The Star Online reported Khalid as saying yesterday.

The top cop explained that only a DNA testing would be considered conclusive in linking the murdered man with the one carrying a passport bearing the name Kim Chol.

The North Korean was murdered at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 when two women allegedly smeared the deadly VX nerve agent on his face.

Both women, Vietnamese Doan Thi Huong and Indonesian Siti Aisyah, have been charged with the murder.
