“Fave is a homegrown brand, developed and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, with millions of users and businesses across South-East Asia, including Jakarta and Singapore,” said group founder, Joel Neoh, in a statement yesterday.
The group acquired Groupon Malaysia, a popular go-to site for deals and discounts, in November 2016 to create new prospects for the online-to-offline (O2O) economy for Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
Fave now inherits Groupon’s steady base of customers, enabling the brand to serve over three million subscribers.
The purchase of Groupon Malaysia allowed Fave to bring the best of mobile commerce and the deals and discount businesses together for the benefit of customers and businesses.
“This would also provide an opportunity to help businesses succeed in mobile commerce,” Neoh said.
He said mobile payment had been identified as one of the critical drivers of O2O commerce, and its transaction value in Malaysia is expected to reach US$927 million (RM4.12 billion) in 2021.
Fave could be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and could be accessed online at www.myfave.com.
