Selangor Criminal Investigation Department head SAC Fadzil Ahmat said the boy had fabricated the story to avoid being scolded by his father for returning home late.
“In his statement that was recorded yesterday, the victim stated he feared being scolded by the complainant (victim’s father) because he went home late.
“Therefore, the boy made up a story where three men wearing face masks attempted to pull him into a van and he managed to escape by biting the hand of one of the suspects,” he said in a statement here today.
Yesterday, Selangor police chief Abdul Samah Mat confirmed having received a report on a kidnap attempt of a boy in Banting.
The report was lodged by the boy’s father at the Kuala Langat police station soon after the boy returned home at about 1.30am.
