At 11am, two plainclothes policemen from the Ampang district headquarters came to Lim’s office in Komtar to interview him. Lim was accompanied by his lawyer R S N Rayer.

According to the police report sighted by FMT, the 13-year-old Form 1 student from Ampang, Selangor, lodged the report because he felt that Lim’s post dated Nov 23, 2016 was against the amendment of the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965, currently being pushed by PAS in the Dewan Rakyat.

In the said post, Lim wanted non-Malay parties to withdraw from BN as the ruling coalition had supported the proposed Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.

The amendment, proposed by PAS president and Marang MP Abdul Hadi Awang, sought to raise the punishments under shariah law up to 30 years’ jail, maximum fine of RM100,000 and up to 100 strokes of the cane.

Lim will hold a press conference later today on the police investigation over his blog post.
