
He said the understanding between the two parties was based on humanitarian principles and not political interests.
“The meeting between the top leadership of both parties, Umno and PAS recently signalled to the people, especially party supporters, that the issue (of the Rohingya) was not about the two political parties but a matter of humanity.
“That is why, if there are any feelings of jealousy from other friends or groups on this issue, it is unreasonable,” he told reporters at a Maulidur Rasul gathering at Kampung Sungai Udang, here today.
He said this when asked to comment on the action by certain groups who questioned the understanding reached between Umno and PAS in stating their solidarity regarding the Rohingya issue.
Earlier, Jamil attended the “Solidarity For You Rohingya” programme at Guar Chempedak and officially opened the Kuala Sungai Udang bridge costing RM250,000 for the benefit of about 300 padi farmers there.
