The 12 men are bouncers employed by the nightclub and some of them were at the location on the night of the incident, theSun reported today.
The trouble originally started with the victim, a tour guide aged 21, allegedly having a heated argument with one of six friends – three men and three women – at the first floor of the nightclub. There were there to celebrate one of their birthdays.
A scuffle then broke and this resulted in several bouncers intervening in the incident to try and break up the fight.
According to sources in the police, as the victim was highly-intoxicated, he resisted attempts by the bouncers to subdue him.
As they were still trying to take him downstairs from the first floor, the victim slipped, falling down the stairway before becoming unconscious, the daily reported.
Though he was rushed to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL), doctors later told theSun that he had already slipped into a coma.
According to theSun, the victim was eventually found to have a blood clot in his brain and was transferred to Hospital Selayang where he underwent surgery.
Out of the 12 bouncers, seven are still under remand to facilitate investigation, while the other five who were presumably not at the location at the time of the altercation, were released.
Police say the victim is now out of the coma and is slowly recovering from his injuries.
