SUNGAI PETANI: Kedah Umno is determined to ensure a two-third majority in the state assembly at the next general election, says state party leader Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah.
He said the state party would seek to realise that aim by enhancing party solidarity and strengthening the election machinery.
“It also requires cooperation of all Umno leaders and members, including the Wanita, Youth and Puteri wings,” he said at the Kedah Umno convention today.
Ahmad Bashah said Umno faced a huge challenge with the presence of an anti-government movement which was led by former Umno leaders themselves.
