SHAH ALAM: Sign language will be incorporated with live telecasts of the Selangor State Assembly next year, State Speaker Hannah Yeoh said.

According to Yeoh, this is one of the state government’s efforts in ensuring that the people get accurate information on state assembly sittings.

TV Selangor will feature sign language interpreters for the live telecast of the state assembly sittings that can be viewed on www.tvselangorkini.com or TV Selangor on YouTube.

The trial run of the initiative began today and will last until Friday.

Selangor Kini Chief Editor Cecelia Alphonsus said this initiative was aimed at facilitating the deaf in following and understanding the entire state assembly sitting.

“We will begin this initiative with the opening of the state assembly session next year.”
