
He said among others, priority would be given to enhancing public facilities in line with the government’s objective to promote the wellbeing of the people, especially city folks.
“We have met with several parties, including state assemblymen, community leaders and residents’ associations in an effort to identify requirements to be included in the provision for next year.
“We will also conduct comprehensive research and studies to ensure the budget benefits everyone,” he told Bernama when contacted today.
He said DBKL was in the midst of preparing a draft budget which would soon be presented to Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
Without disclosing the amount to be allocated for 2017, Mhd Amin Nordin said cleanliness and maintenance of the capital city, including beautification programmes and road repairs would be continued for the comfort and convenience of city dwellers.
Last year, a total of RM2.72 billion was announced for the 2016 Budget to improve municipal governance and urban services for the wellbeing of about 1.7 million residents.
