PUTRAJAYA: The power failure at the Air Traffic Control Centre in Subang affected flights at the northern sector – Butterworth, Penang, Langkawi and Alor Star – as well as at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for more than an hour.
Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) Director-General Azharuddin Abdul Rahman said the problem, which affected communication links, occurred at 2.46pm but was rectified at 4.06pm.
He said flight operations at the northern sector and KLIA had been staggered.
“Radar still available.
“Slight delay (for flights) can be expected,” he told Bernama here today.
