
The Sessions Court set the trial date for Dr Ting Teck Chin from Jan 23 to Jan 27 next year, when the case came up for mention before judge Zaman Mohd Noor today.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Shukor Abu Bakar informed the court the prosecution would be calling 11 witnesses during the trial.
The court also fixed another mention date, Nov 11, for the prosecution to surrender documents to Ting in the form of two sets of pharmaceutical reports and crime scene photos.
Ting was charged with culpable homicide, not amounting to murder, under Section 304(b) of the Penal Code for the death of Syed Alman.
He was said to have committed the offence on June 1, between 6pm and 9.05pm, at the Imperial Dental Specialist Centre in Bangsar here.
If convicted, he will face a jail term of up to 10 years or a fine, or both.
He was represented by Dev Kumaraendran.
Syed Alman was married to Nurulhidayah, Zahid’s eldest daughter.
