Dead cabbie’s daughter remanded in murder probe

Pakistani and another man, both in their 20s, also being sought in the investigation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have detained the daughter of a taxi driver found dead in the Danau Kota flats on Thursday after she was suspected of giving conflicting statements.

The woman, an insurance agent in her 30s, was detained after giving her statement at the Sri Petaling police station and has been remanded for five days.

Wangsa Maju police chief Supt Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said a Pakistani national and another man, both in their 20s were being sought in the investigation.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

The taxi driver’s body was reported to have been discovered around 12.40pm on Thursday afternoon in a rolled mattress under a pile of clothes.
