
The report said the 26-year-old Crown Prince’s installation would be marked by ceremonies steeped in tradition at the Istana Alam Shah in Klang.
There will be two main ceremonies for the installation on Saturday, followed by another ceremony the following Saturday, it added.
Tengku Amir Shah, the son of Sultan Sharafuddin and American Nurlisa Idris, received his primary and secondary education at the Alice Smith School in Kuala Lumpur, and continued his studies at the Wellington College in the United Kingdom, from 2004 to 2009.
He obtained a Bachelor in Ecology and Environmental Biology degree at Leeds University in 2014.
Tengku Amir Shah also underwent a military preparatory course in Port Dickson, before enrolling at the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, United Kingdom.
He was commissioned as an army officer with the rank of Lieutenant with the 17th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment (RMR) on July 16 this year.
The Crown Prince also enjoys sports such as golf and football, as well as extreme sports such as water rafting, all-terrain vehicle riding, biking and paintball.
He is also the royal patron of Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor, Selangor Cheshire Home Welfare Foundation, Make a Wish Malaysia, and Selangor Youth Community (SAY).
His father, Sultan Sharafuddin, was made Raja Muda in September 1960 at the age of 15, and fully installed as the 8th Raja Muda in 1970 at Istana Alam Shah, Klang.
The Sultan ascended the throne as the 9th Sultan of Selangor on Nov 22, 2001, after his father, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, passed away a day earlier.
