KINABATANGAN: A woman who reportedly went missing while collecting oil palm fruits, is believed to have fallen prey to a crocodile in Ladang Genting Mewah, here today.
A statement from the Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Operation Centre said villagers reported seeing the 22-year-old woman being attacked by a crocodile at 8.30am yesterday.
Firefighters from the Kinabatangan Division began the search operation at 11.40am as the scene of the likely crocodile attack was located 35 kilometres away from the Kinabatangan fire station.
The statement said until last evening, they had yet to find the victim but would continue the search operation today.
