ALOR STAR: A woman choked to death while enjoying a slice of smoked meat at her home in Kampung Bukit Raya Dalam here yesterday.
In the 5.30pm incident, Nur Azimah Abdullah Alharith and family members were enjoying smoked Aidiladha sacrificial meat when she complained of difficulty breathing.
Pendang Civil Defence Department Officer Norlizawati Ismail said the department received a call from the family at 5.53pm for assistance to get Nur Azimah to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) here.
She said when the department’s first responders arrived, Nur Azimah was already unconscious but still alive.
“However, she was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital,” she told Bernama today.
