PETALING JAYA:
The father of Sungai Pinang Assemblywoman Lim Siew Khim has been released from remand.

Penang Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Director Abd Aziz Aban said the 68-year-old was released last night, theSun reported.

Abd Aziz said investigations were still ongoing.

“Uncle Lim” turned himself in to the authorities following the release of a video allegedly showing disgruntled house buyers claiming to have paid money to obtain public housing units.

MACC has also taken a statement from the assemblywoman.

She had earlier denied any involvement in the alleged bribes-for-homes controversy and emphasised that her father had no power to decide who should be given public housing units.
