Seremban accident claims 3 lives

The driver loses control of the vehicle and veers into the opposite lane and hits another car during a downpour.

SEREMBAN: Three people died while three others were seriously injured in an accident involving two cars at Km23, Jalan Bahau-Keratong here last night.

Jempol district police chief Supt Noorzainy Mohd Noor said Sha’ri Md Akim, 53, who was driving a Proton Perdana, R Julie, 34, who was driving a Proton Waja, and her passenger, R Saniasammah, 58, died at the scene.

Three others, P Rajaispasri, 47, and K. Srinikha, 6, who were in the Proton Waja, and Sha’ri’s daughter, Siti Nur Azreera, 18, sustained serious injuries. They have been sent to Jempol Hospital.

“The 8.15pm incident is believed to have occurred when Sha’ri, who was driving from Bahau to Muadzam Shah, lost control of the vehicle and veered into the opposite lane and hit Julie’s car.

“It had been raining and the road was slippery at the time,” said Noorzainy when contacted today.

He said the bodies had been sent to Jempol Hospital for post-mortem.
