The Star reported that the incident happened at the Malacca Hospital last week when the man went to seek treatment for injuries on his left thigh following a road accident.
When the 26-year-old doctor was attending to the man, he allegedly exposed his groin to her and grabbed her hand to check his private parts, as he claimed he also had pain there.
The female doctor is said to have freaked out and refused to check the man. She left the ward and lodged a police report the following day.
According to State Health, Sports Development and Anti-Drugs Committee Deputy Chairman Ng Choon Koon, initial investigations revealed that the patient, who had been going for check-ups at the hospital for some time now,had previously tried to get frisky with the nurses.
Ng said other female medical staff at the hospital would be interviewed to determine if they had been harassed by the same man.
“We need to know whether this patient should be monitored whenever he turns up for medical check-ups,” he was quoted as saying.
Police have started probing the matter under Section 509 of the Penal Code for “insulting modesty”, said the report.
