KLANG: Construction of the 233km-long West Coast Highway from Banting (Selangor) to Taiping (Perak) is progressing well.
West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd (WCESB) Managing Director Neoh Soon Hiong said the RM6 billion project was progressing according to schedule and was already 23% completed.
He was speaking to reporters after attending the Tool Box Talk programme pertaining to the third, fourth and fifth phases of the highway, which was opened by Malaysian Highway Authority Director-General Ismail Md Salleh here today.
The highway, which will be an alternative to the North-South Highway for journeys from Selangor to Perak, is scheduled for completion in 2019.
At the event, WCESB also received the ISO14001:2014 certification for environment management.
