KUALA LUMPUR: A telephone dealer who punched his girlfriend, was fined RM1,000 in default two months’ jail by the Magistrate’s Court here today.
Magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som sentenced Muhamad Hafiszul Muhamad Fazil, 31, after he pleaded guilty to causing injury to Zuriana Zamrud, 26, by punching the victim on the back of the head and shoulders.
Muhamad Hafiszul committed the offence on the 3rd Floor of the Times Square Shopping Centre, Jalan Imbi, here, at 2.30pm, on Aug 3.
“The victim, who was jealous when she saw the accused looking at another woman yelled at him, causing a quarrel. The accused was embarrassed and unintentionally punched her,” he said.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin prosecuted while counsel Azi Azlin Zulkifli represented the accused.
