Threatening to take action against officers who are unable to deliver on his orders, Mohamed said: “We will give them (state authorities) three months beginning August 1. I will monitor their KPI (Key Performance Index).
“If the (online gambling) activities are still rampant, then I will consider a move to ensure the district administration or local government is strengthened.
“If they cannot perform, then we will get people who can perform better,” he told reporters when met at the Wanita Umno’s Hari Raya celebration at the Putra World Trade Center here.
Mohamad said the warning may be harsh, but it was meant to ensure full enforcement of the laws already in place to combat problems posed by such online gambling outlets in the state.
“We don’t want the activity to spread even further.
“As it is, online gambling has become a social illness, causing couples to get divorced and bills being unpaid.
“So we have to tackle this issue now before it’s too late,” he added.
