PKR’s Latheefa hits back at DAP’s Pua

"Don't scream jump and expect us to say how high," says PKR's Legal Bureau Chief Latheefa Koya.

PETALING JAYA:
The war of words between Pakatan Harapan’s component parties has intensified as one of PKR’s leaders snapped back at the remarks made by DAP’s Tony Pua.

Senior PKR leader and legal advisor Latheefa Koya, on her Facebook today, said DAP can’t expect its partners to simply ask “how high” when it screams “jump”.

She also told DAP to get their “facts correct” before accusing PKR of leaking any information regarding the former’s proposed snap polls in Penang.

“Or wait … Who also unilaterally announced the death of Pakatan Rakyat?

“Or wait … Who also announced the formation of Pakatan Harapan  all to the press before the final decision?

“Don’t strip first and then complain about being left naked.”

Latheefa did not stop there. She then lambasted DAP for its ever-changing excuses to call for the snap polls, laying down, one by one, the reasons the party had given since its plan was revealed less than a month ago.

“First, it was to get back the so-called mandate of the people (which strangely you insist that you have not lost).

“Then you say it’s not about your leader’s (Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng) charge (court charges) and now you are saying it’s about a referendum against (Prime Minister) Najib (Razak), based on the latest (US) DOJ (Department of Justice) expose.

“Perhaps, you should all make up your mind first, which is which, and then consult us and convince us.”

Pua, just hours earlier, posted a Facebook status accusing some “friends” whom he said had leaked information to the media first, leaving the other “completely naked”.

PKR’s Bukit Lanjan assemblyperson Elizabeth Wong, speaking to FMT, said she did not know what Pua was referring to as the party has, from the very start, stated that it is unconvinced with the need to call for snap polls in DAP-led Penang.

“As such, during yesterday’s Special Central Committee meeting of the party, we have agreed to dispatch a high-level delegation to once again meet DAP soonest.

“Any issues can be further discussed by the high-level delegation,” she said, adding that she herself is not in the delegation.
