PETALING JAYA:
An object believed to be a home-made explosive device was found today beside a road in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, police said.

Police received information on the object in Lorong Kolam Air 9, which is next to a railroad track, at 4.35pm.

The bomb squad was sent to the spot and found the object was a plastic bottle wrapped with paper and plastic.

Star Online said it was believed the bottle contained glass shards and ball bearings as well as powder, believed to have been extracted from firecrackers.

When contacted, Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Commissioner Amar Singh said police were investigating the case and the motive.
