In his latest blog post titled “Mahathir’s last throw of the dice”, Salleh said many new parties and new coalitions have been formed over the last 65 years since 1951.
“Some have survived till today while many more have disappeared along the way.
“Sometimes voters prefer the tried and tested rather than the unknown and uncharted.”
Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad today announced that he would form a new party which will be a component of a new Opposition pact in facing the 14th General Election.
The new Opposition pact will also feature DAP, PKR and Amanah as its component parties.
According to Salleh, a party or even a coalition was merely a vehicle or a means to an end.
“What is more important is what they hope to achieve and how they hope to achieve it.
“The list of parties and coalitions that have come and gone is so long. It takes more than forming parties and coalitions to win elections,” he said.
