SANDAKAN:
The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) will increase security measures in Sabah waters to the highest level possible during the Aidilfitri celebration.

Its chief, Admiral Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin, said this was because the RMN did not want any subversive elements to have the opportunity to carry out their activities that could threaten national security.

“The level of preparedness of ATM personnel and assets is high and has never wavered in ensuring that the national waters, especially on the east coast, is well protected,” he told reporters after distributing Raya cookies to the staff at RMN Forward Base here today.

In this regard, Ahmad Kamarulzaman also reminded RMN personnel, who would be on duty during the Hari Raya, especially in operation areas, to focus on the duties entrusted upon them.

He said their sacrifices for having to work and being away from their families during the festive season were highly appreciated.
