PETALING JAYA: A teenage girl who ran away from home a month ago was killed after she tried to cross a highway here.
The Star Online reported Chai Ying Xue, 15, was knocked down by a car while she was trying to cross the Kesas Highway bound for Petaling Jaya from Sungai Besi, from the left to the right, about 2.40pm yesterday.
She was flung onto the second lane from the impact, and then hit by a lorry travelling in that lane.
Chai, who was reported to have run away from a home about a month ago, died on the spot from injuries to her head.
Police are trying to trace the lorry driver to assist in the probe.
